SURF's UP: Waves of Innovation

Get ready for an unforgettable day at the 6th Annual STEAMFEST, hosted by Compton Unified and Compton College! STEAMFest is coming May 29th and we are very excited for this year’s event at Compton College with lots of FREE PARKING! We have some exciting updates for our event including LA legendary DJ Toddy Tee as MC, a Silent Disco with beats provided by our own Centennial Audio Production team! The event will have many activities from our scholars including a live dance performance, an Esports Competition, and a drone demonstration! Photo Opportunities with Aquaman, Little Mermaid, and Moana will be great for family and Kids. Over 50 partners will be providing hands on activities for our students to learn more about how to make the world a better place through innovations with art and technology!This year, students will dazzle you with their innovative projects, showcasing creative ways to protect and preserve our oceans and ecosystems. But that’s not all—dive into hands-on activities, explore cutting-edge exhibits, and enter our epic raffle for a chance to win incredible prizes! It’s a day packed with excitement, inspiration, and endless fun. Don’t miss out—join us and celebrate the power of STEAM!

Focused on Ocean Conservation, our theme celebrates the innovative spirit of STEAM while promoting environmental awareness and sustainability. Through this event, we will educate and inspire our students and community about the importance of preserving our oceans while showcasing cutting-edge technology and ideas that make a difference.

Here's what you can look forward to:

• Free Raffles: Prizes include TVs, Drones, Amazon Cards, and More!

• Cool Competitions: Each Compton School will show off their awesome inventions on how to preserve and protect our ecosystem.

• Student Performances: See our Scholars perform short plays and dances!

• FREE Pictures: Hang out with Aquaman, Little Mermaid, Moana and more

• STUDENT BOAT RACES See student race their boats and underwater robots

• Robots to Play With: Try your hand at coding and building robots. You'll learn how they can solve problems in the real world.

• Esports Game Time: Join tournaments with games like Fortnite and League of Legends. It's all about how tech and gaming mix together.

• Virtual Reality Adventures: Step into a whole new world with virtual reality games and experiences.

• Food Trucks : Taste the delicious flavors of Compton from our local restaurants.

With student performances, fun activities, and tasty food, there's something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
