College Courses

College Courses: Compton College Locations: Centennial, Compton HS, Dominguez, Early College Any student is able to take college courses FREE via Compton College during the school day, after school or during the summer. Students will earn college credit, which will increase the chances of getting into the college of their choice, save $$$, save time and graduate sooner.

Early College Satellite Locations: Centennial, Compton HS, Dominguez As an extension of Compton Early College HS, the satellite program will allow students to complete their Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC), which is a series of courses that California community college students may complete to satisfy the lower-division breadth/general education requirements before transferring to the California State University (CSU) or to the University of California (UC). Beginning in the 9th grade students will be required to complete about 12 college courses to total 37 semester units. Dominguez & Centennial HS are the only 2 schools in LA County that received an Exemplary Dual Enrollment Award in LA County and 2 out of the total 9 that were awarded in the entire state!

3 Year Degree Program (Compton College, Charles Drew) Locations: Dominguez High School The 3-Year Bachelor’s degree program will allow for high school rising juniors who are interested in becoming a healthcare professional to complete college level courses beginning the summer prior to 11th grade & throughout senior year. After High School, students complete 1 year at Compton College to earn an Associate degree in General Studies: Social and Behavioral Sciences. Upon completion of the AA degree, students continue their education through a transfer pathway to Charles R. Drew University to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Psychology, or Public Health within 2 years. Ultimately their goal is to complete their Bachelor’s degree in 3 years post high school graduation.
