Twelve scholars from Enterprise Middle School boys' mentor group had the honor of welcoming Super Mentor Mohamet Mbaye for an inspiring discussion on The Art of Loving Your Melanin. Mbaye shared his personal journey of growing up in Africa and the challenges he faced upon arriving in America due to the color of his skin.
More than 50 Centennial, Compton, Compton Early College, and Dominguez High School scholars, including many band, dance, and drill team members, attended the Los Angeles Black College Expo and the highly anticipated Honda Battle of the Bands.

Meet Tyjahnae Hodge, Compton High School Class of 2024 graduate. She is planning on going to Woodbury University in Burbank in the fall and majoring in Animation.
Meet Isis Cadena-Nunez, Compton Early College High School Class of 2024 graduate. She will be going to U.C. Santa Cruz in the fall, double majoring in Marine Biology and Environmental Science.
Meet Tyrell Adams, Dominguez High School Class of 2024 graduate. He will be attending California State University, Dominguez Hills in the fall, majoring in Business Management.
Meet Oshon Mitchell Jr., Compton High School Class of 2024 graduate. He will be attending Cal Poly Pomona in the fall, majoring in Electrical Engineering.
Meet Emily Garcia, Dominguez High School Class of 2024 graduate. She will be attending University of California, Los Angeles in the fall, majoring in Public Health.
