Principal's Message

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School’s students and staff are on the move. We met all of the Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) Indicators with the exception of one subgroup, which we missed by half of a percentage point, and once again we tripled our Academic Performance Index (API) goal. We ask that parents continue to send their children to school everyday so that we may continue our progress.

We are a fourth year Program Improvement School and have chosen to restructure our instructional programs. The school Leadership Team and Parents have been working collaboratively to address the issues that are hindering our success and come up with solutions to move us forward and out of Program Improvement status. One of the key elements of our plan is to refocus much more of our resources on Kindergarten and first grade students to ensure that every child receives a quality foundation that will lead to ongoing success.

We invite all parents to join us for the various activities that take place at Jefferson and hope that many more of you will find the time to become parent volunteers. On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to thank you and the community for your continuing support.
