Whaley Middle
Principal's Message
At Franklin S. Whaley Middle School, we believe that the academic achievement of every student increases as a result of our quality instructional program, broad-based leadership capacity building, dynamic parent and community partnerships, and a positive, safe, school environment. Our mission, in concert with the vision of the Compton Unified School District, is to create a school family that includes students, teachers, parents and community members as leaders that highly promote the welfare, skills, knowledge and understanding of all students. We want all students to achieve academic excellence through a challenging learning experience providing students with the necessary skills to become positive role models in our democratic society.
We believe that our school, families, and community must work together to promote successful students. We view our parents, family members, and community as essential components of our school and classroom organization. We encourage family members to volunteer in our classrooms, our library, or in the cafeteria during lunch. Parent/school/community partnerships make our school a successful place to learn.
The School Accountability Report Card provides parents and other interested community members with information on many aspects of Whaley Middle School, its resources, its successes, and the areas in which improvements are needed. When you read the report card you will find that what emerges is a picture of a school that is dedicated to academic excellence and personally committed to meeting the learning needs of students.
