Teachers Are Equipped with New Equipment and Training As They Prepare to Revive Tennis at Compton Schools

A tennis revival is imminent in Compton Unified School District (CUSD) schools. Through the District’s collaborative partnership with the US Tennis Association (USTA) of Southern California and the Sloane Stephens Foundation, instructors were equipped with 200 new rackets, 240 tennis balls, and one net for each school during a special training session at Roosevelt Middle School. Two students from Compton Unified School District’s Dominguez High School are recipients of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Gates Millennium Scholarship. Compton High School Boosts FAFSA Completion Rate By Competing in California College Challenge, Wins $500 Grant
