MODULE 1: ELA/ELD FRAMEWORK AND ELD STANDARDS
Module Description
Are you curious about the new ELA/ELD framework, and how ELD will be taught in light of the CCSS and the New ELD Standards? What does integrated ELD really mean? In module 1, participants will understand and learn about the new ELA/ELD Framework, and they will get an overview of the philosophy and research behind the creation of the ELD standards and how these standards should be implemented in the classroom.

MODULE 2: CREATING A CULTURE FOR ACTIVE LANGUAGE ENGAGEMENT
Module Description
During module 2 participants will begin to identify language functions when planning for student learning. They will develop and implement academic language frames during instruction, and they will consistently model the purpose and application of language functions. 

MODULE 3: THE ART OF QUESTIONING, CUEING, AND PROMPTING
Module Description
During module 3 participants will learn about the implementation of purposeful and effective questions, cues and prompts in order to drive thinking, learning and language. They will plan for a variety of questions in order to reach different levels of Depth of Knowledge. Participants will also learn to model how to ask and answer questions. 

MODULE 4: CLOSE READING AND GRADUAL RELEASE OF RESPONSABILITY
Module Description
During module 4 participants will begin to understand the refinement of the “I Do” and the “We Do” of the GRR model. They will begin to understand how language could be taught during the strategy of close reading. Also, they will begin to implement strategies to provide access to language for English Language Learners during close reading.

MODULE 5: HOW ENGLISH WORKS: LANGUAGE DECONSTRUCTION
Module Description
We all are English language teachers regardless of the content area that we teach. During module 5 participants will consider the structures for implementing grammar and syntax instruction. They will begin to integrate grammar and syntax instruction with content instruction. Also, they will begin to address specific grammar and syntax skills with authentic text. In a nutshell, participating teachers will learn about Integrated ELD.

MODULE 6: COLLABORATIVE CONVERSATIONS
Module Description
From the time that there have been education standards, speaking and listening have been included. That is not new. What is new is the role that student-to-student interaction plays in the Common Core State Standards. During module 5 participants will begin to understand the “you do together” and the “you do alone” phases of the GRR model. Also, they will being to understand the importance of using language frames to facilitate the art of argumentation and reflect on how to translate and apply the concepts of Module 6 into the classroom.
