Compton Unified School District

Chief's Message

Welcome to the Compton Unified School District Police Department’s (CUSDPD) web page. I hope you find this site informative and useful. The men and women of the CUSDPD pledge to provide all visitors to this page with pertinent information on student, school, and community safety.

The vision for the CUSDPD is to provide our schools, students, teachers, administrators, staff and the entire Compton Unified School District community with a safe environment in which to learn, live, or work. The Department motto, “Dedicated to Safe Education”, is proudly displayed on our uniform shoulder patches and on our police vehicles. It is a succinct and direct statement of our mission.

The men and women of the CUSDPD provide police services around the clock, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide comprehensive police services to 25,000 students and 1,700 employees located at 45 school sites and departments over an approximate area of 11 square miles.

We strive to foster strong partnerships with all stakeholders, including school district administration, parent and community representatives, City of Compton, and local businesses. We will consistently promote an open line of communication with all of the above parties, coordinate with school district administration, operations representatives and parents to ensure our efforts are dedicated toward keeping our students safe.

Additionally, CUSDPD is committed to working closely with the numerous law enforcement organizations and government agencies located within the Compton Unified School District as well as those outside the District which contribute toward our mission.

Again, thank you for visiting our web page. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Very truly yours,

WILLIAM W. WU, J.D.
Chief of Police
